Software Engineer

AMS Services, a division of Vertafore has an immediately opening for an
experienced Software Engineer, working in our downtown Portland Maine
office. The successful candidate will become a member of a small scrum
team developing one of our products. Work with the latest technology
from Microsoft® in a fast-paced, professional environment in
downtown Portland.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features for products.
- Contribute as a member of the product scrum team to deliver new features iteratively.
- Make recommendations on new technology that can be used to solve our client's problems.
- Mentor junior members of the development staff.
- Work with business analysts, prospects, and customers in an iterative fashion to define and refine the product.
Qualifications
Experience with the following:
- C# / VB.Net
- Microsoft .Net Framework
- ASP.NET
- XML/XSD
- Object-oriented design
- Web Services/IIS
- Knowledge or experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Microsoft WWF, WPF, WCF
- User Interface design (Microsoft UX guidelines)
- Active Directory
- XSLT
- Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work well on a small scrum team
- Strong trouble-shooting and debugging skills.
Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
Experience Recommended
- A minimum of eight years experience in software development.
